We were at Ponta Negra Beach, Natal City, Brazil. There were some cocktails on sale, but Toshiro decided to improvise and make two simple, but delicious drinks. He bought, from an itinerant fruit salesman, some fresh cajá (spondias mombin) and cashew. After that he asked the local barman for 2 ounces of vodka with ice.
Estávamos na Praia de Ponta Negra, em Natal – RN. Ali havia coquetéis à venda, mas Toshiro deciciu improvisar e fazer dois simples, porém deliciosos drinks. Ele comprou cajá e caju frescos de um vendedor ambulante. Em seguida, pediu ao barman uma dose de vodka com gelo.
The preparation was very simple. For the cashew cocktail Toshiro squeezed the fruit enough to make it softer and take some juice out of it through a small hole, pouring the maximum of it into the vodka cup. He added some sugar and voilá! Fresh, simple, quick and tasty.
O preparo foi muito simples. Para o coquetel de caju Toshiro espremeu a fruta o suficiente para deixá-la macia e poder tirar o máximo de suco por um pequeno buraco, colocando-o no copo de vodka. Ele adicionou açúcar e voilá! Fresco, simples, rápido e gostoso.
The same for the spondias mombin cocktail, but this time our dear japanese friend added the rest of the fruit into the cup.
O mesmo para o coquetel de cajá, mas dessa vez nosso caro japinha adicionou o resto da fruta ao copo.
