<p style="text-align:justify;">My friend André Santos is an expert on special beers, but does not refuse generous amounts of a good Tennessee Whiskey. And he&#8217;s also <span id="more-1197"></span>a <span style="font-family:Arial;"> culynary connoisseur</span>, which brought him to suggest me a cocktail based on that whiskey, sugar syrup and banana, fruit often discriminated by mixologists and drinkers on its use on beverages. Regardless of the approval or rejection of the banana on cocktail recipes, this fruit is my favorite one! André&#8217;s suggestion was very well received.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">To complete the recipe, I added vanilla flavored vodka and lime. On this cocktail&#8217;s first tasting, which took place in a party in my house, the banana nectar evaporated!</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">In a cocktail shaker:<br />
• 1/2 part of Tennessee Whiskey or bourbon<br />
• 1/2 part of vanilla flavored vodka<br />
• 2 parts of banana nectar*<br />
• 1/4 part of lime<br />
• 1/2 part of sugar syrup**<br />
• Ice</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">* The banana nectar must be made out of water and banana. Blend these ingredients until they become homogenized. The proportion depends on the customer&#8217;s taste: the more banana, creamier is the result, and so I prefer.<br />
* For the sugar syrup preparation, use three parts of sugar and one part of water. In a saucepan, stir the sugar over low heat. Cook whisking gently until the sugar is completely dissolved. Don&#8217;t let it burn. Remove it from heat and keep on stirring for five minutes. Then add the water slowly. When the mixture is homogenized, return it to low heat and cook for two more minutes. Let it cool down.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#999999;"><em>Meu amigo André Santos é um </em>expert<em> em cervejas especiais, mas não dispensa doses generosas de um bom Tennessee Whiskey. E perito que é em sua carreira gastronômica, sugeriu-me um coquetel à base desse uísque, calda de açúcar e banana, fruta muitas vezes discriminada por mixologistas e clientes no uso em bebidas. Independentemente da aprovação ou rejeição da banana, ela é minha fruta favorita! A sugestão do André foi muito bem acolhida.</em></span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#999999;"><em>Para finalizar a receita, acrescentei vodca flavorizada de baunilha e limão-taiti. No primeiro experimento desse coquetel, ocorrido em uma noite de drinques em minha casa, o estoque do néctar de banana evaporou!</em></span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#999999;"><em>Numa coqueteleira:</em></span><br />
<span style="color:#999999;"> <em> • 1/2 parte de Tennessee Whiskey ou bourbon</em></span><br />
<span style="color:#999999;"> <em> • 1/2 parte de vodca flavorizada sabor baunilha</em></span><br />
<span style="color:#999999;"> <em> • 2 partes de néctar de banana*</em></span><br />
<span style="color:#999999;"> <em> • 1/4 de suco de limão</em></span><br />
<span style="color:#999999;"> <em> • 1/2 parte de calda de açúcar**</em></span><br />
<span style="color:#999999;"> <em> • Gelo</em></span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#999999;"><em>* O néctar de banana deve ser feito apenas de água e banana. Bata esses ingredientes no liquidificador até que a mistura fique bem homogênea. A proporção fica a gosto do cliente: quanto mais banana, mais cremoso é o resultado, e assim eu prefiro.</em></span><br />
<span style="color:#999999;"> <em> ** Para o preparo da calda, utilize três partes de açúcar para uma parte de água. Em uma panela não muito pequena, leve o açúcar ao fogo baixo mexendo sempre até desencaroçar. Não deixe queimar. Apague o fogo e continue mexendo por uns cinco minutos. Sem parar de mexer, lentamente acrescente a água até que a mistura fique bem homogênea. Acenda novamente o fogo e mexa por mais dois minutos. Desligue o fogo e deixe esfriar.</em></span></p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">I remember myself when I was around 5 years old, eating watermelon by the sea in <a title="Marataízes City" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marata%C3%ADzes,_Esp%C3%ADrito_Santo" target="_blank"><em>Marataízes City</em></a>, Brazil. <span id="more-1125"></span>Beside me were my mother and my cousin Pia Coeli. After many years (lots of years), I found this memory strange, because today I hate watermelon so much that I can&#8217;t even smell a candy made out of that fruit. I asked my mother the reason for such hatred, after all I remember that afternoon eating binge and it felt so good. That&#8217;s when she said: &#8220;Ah, now you remember that!&#8221;. According to her, I ate watermelon as if the world was coming to an end. Of course I got very sick! This I can&#8217;t remember.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Anyway, I&#8217;ve had to challenge myself by making a cocktail with watermelon that was at least bearable. My strategy was putting other ingredients to hide the flavor a little. The results were sensational! I&#8217;m still not able to eat the fruit, but I can drink this cocktail anytime, anywhere, as long as with moderation, of alcohol and of watermelon. Don&#8217;t wanna puke my guts out again.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Watermelon, today I can say that I LOVE TO HATE YOU.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Ah, I dedicate this post to my late uncle Michele. At that time he was the owner the beach house in <em>Marataízes</em> and also bought us the watermelons :-).</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">In a cocktail shaker*:<br />
• 1 oz watermelon juice concentrate<br />
• 1 oz <a title="Cupuaçu" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cupua%C3%A7u" target="_blank">cupuaçu</a> juice concentrate (soursop goes well too)<br />
• 1/2 oz lime<br />
• 1/2 oz vodka<br />
• 1/2 oz cachaça<br />
• 1/2 oz maraschino liqueur<br />
• 3/4 oz egg white<br />
• 1/2 oz simple syrup<br />
• Ice</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">* To get a creamy texture, shake well all the ingredinets without the ice. Add it and shake well again.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#999999;"><em>Lembro-me de quando eu tinha por volta de 5 anos de idade e comia melancia à beira do mar na cidade de </em><a title="Marataízes" href="http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marata%C3%ADzes" target="_blank"><span style="color:#999999;">Marataízes</span></a><em>, no </em>Espírito Santo<em>. Ao meu lado estavam minha mãe e minha prima Pia Coeli. Passados muitos anos (muitos mesmo), achei estranho essa lembraça, pois hoje odeio melancia a ponto de não poder sentir nem cheiro de bala da bendita fruta. Perguntei à minha mãe o motivo de tanto ódio, afinal lembro-me da comilança naquela tarde e me parece ter sido boa. Foi quando ela disse: &#8220;Ah, agora você lembra, né!&#8221;. Segundo minha mãe, comi melancia como se o mundo fosse acabar no dia seguinte. É claro que passei muito mal! Só que disso eu não me lembrava.</em></span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#999999;"><em>Enfim, tive que me desafiar fazendo um coquetel com melancia que fosse pelo menos suportável. Minha estratégia foi adicionar outros ingredientes para mascarar um pouco o sabor. O resultado foi sensacional! Ainda não estou apto a comer a fruta, mas posso tomar esse coquetel a qualquer dia e em qualquer lugar, desde que com moderação, pelo álcool e pela dita cuja. Não quero vomitar as tripas de novo.</em></span></p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Inspired by <em><a title="1984" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nineteen_Eighty-Four" target="_blank">1984</a></em>, my favorite book, this conceptual cocktail is a way I&#8217;ve found to describe the sour atmosphere<span id="more-995"></span> of this <em><a title="George Orwell" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Orwell" target="_blank">George Orwell</a>&#8216;s</em> masterpiece. Although I don&#8217;t have <a title="Newspeak Dictionary" href="http://www.newspeakdictionary.com/ns-dict.html" target="_blank"><em>crimetinking</em></a> tendencies, while reading <em>1984</em> I oddly got interested by some degrading details, specially the <em>Chestnut Tree Cafe</em>, wich the book describes as a haunt for painters and musicians. The old discredited leaders of the<em> <a title="Ingsoc" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ingsoc" target="_blank">Ingsoc</a></em> used to gather there before they were finally purged from the Party. Maybe my empathy with that place is due to the absense of law (I&#8217;m not an outlaw!) against frequenting the establishment and to the feeling of relief inside a tense and constant narrative, though the cafe was somehow ill-omened. To increase my identification, the <em>Chestnut Tree Cafe</em> used to serve gin, one of my favorite spirits. Indeed, gin and coffee were the most served drinks in <em>Oceania</em>, continent where the history took place. <em>Orwell</em> describes the <em>Victory Gin</em>, the <em>Victory Coffee</em> and the <em>saccharine flavoured with cloves</em> as awful quality products, but amid lots of restrictions – and the book deals with a completely restricted society – these products seemed pretty tasty. And served me as ingredients for this cocktail.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Having already the coffee and the gin as ingredients, I&#8217;ve choosen lemon to represent the <em>1984</em> sour atmosphere. The <em>saccharine flavoured with cloves</em> was replaced by clove-infused simple syrup. To garnish the cup, I used cocoa powder, an allusion to the <em>chocolate ration</em> described in the book.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">The comparison of the book to a cocktail may seem strange, but <em>1984</em> is formidable and deserves a toast. Away from the <a title="Telescreen" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telescreen" target="_blank"><em>telescreen</em></a>, of course.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">In a cocktail shaker:<br />
• 1 part gin<br />
• 1/2 part lemon juice<br />
• 1/2 part clove-infused simple syrup*<br />
• 1/5 part coffee<br />

<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#999999;"><em>Inspirado em </em><a title="1984" href="http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/1984_(livro)" target="_blank">1984</a><em>, meu livro favorito, este coquetel conceitual é uma maneira que encontrei para traduzir a atmosfera acre da obra de </em><a title="George Orwell" href="http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Orwell" target="_blank">George Orwell</a><em>. Embora eu não tenha tendências </em><a title="Crimidéia" href="http://www.duplipensar.net/crimideia/index.html" target="_blank">ideocriminosas</a><em>, ao ler </em>1984<em> estranhamente me interessei com alguns detalhes detestáveis, especialmente o </em>Café Castanheira<em>, que, como o próprio livro descreve, era um santuário de pintores e músicos. Os antigos e desacreditados líderes do </em><a title="Ingsoc" href="http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/1984_(livro)" target="_blank">Ingsoc</a><em> costumavam reunir-se lá, antes de serem expurgados do Partido. Talvez eu tenha me simpatizado com o estabelecimento por não haver lei (não sou um fora-da-lei!) contra a frequência nas suas instalacões e por ele ser uma espécie de alívio em meio à narrativa tensa e constante, embora o lugar fosse de maus presságios. Para favorecer a minha identificação, no </em>Castanheira<em> servia-se gim, uma das minhas bebidas destiladas prediletas. Aliás, gim e café eram as bebidas mais servidas na </em>Oceania<em>, continente onde se passa a história. </em>Orwell<em> descreve o </em>Gim Vitória<em>, o </em>Café Vitória<em> e a </em>sacarina com essência de cravo<em> como produtos de péssima qualidade, mas em meio a tanta restrição – e o livro trata de uma sociedade completamente restrita –, esses produtos pareciam bem saborosos. E me serviram como ingredientes para este coquetel.</em></span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#999999;"><em>Tendo já o café e o gim como ingredientes, escolhi o limão siciliano para representar a atmosfera acre de </em>1984<em>. A </em>sacarina com essência de cravo<em> foi substituída por cravo infundido em xarope simples. Para decorar a borda da taça, utilizei chocolate em pó, que é uma alusão à </em>ração de chocolate<em> descrita no livro.</em></span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#999999;"><em>A associação do livro a um coquetel pode parecer estranha, mas </em>1984<em> é formidável e por isso merece um brinde. <p style="text-align:justify;">In the rising of flavored vodkas, I&#8217;ve created a simple and delicious cocktail. If the vodka is fine, it&#8217;s easier to get it right. And that was no different to <strong><em>Vermilion</em></strong>, <span id="more-946"></span>a cocktail based on ingredients that go from red to yellow.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Usually, this type of vodka has a remarkable flavor, enabling the uneven domination of the cocktail&#8217;s taste, hiding the subtlety of other ingredients that could give a special touch to the recipe. To avoid this risk, I look for ingredients with some afinity. In this cocktail, for instance, I matched peach with strawberry, orange and lemon. If they go right in a fruit salad, why not in a cocktail?</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Suggestion: if you don&#8217;t find the peach flavored vodka, you can make an infusion using canned peaches and common vodka or even use peach essence. You can also use the same canned peaches as one of the ingredients. The important is to get right the harmonization and make a delicious cocktail, in which the flavors of the peach, strawberry, orange and lemon are distinguished in the tasting.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">In a cocktail shaker:<br />
• 1 part of peach flavored vodka<br />
• 1 part of strawberry juice concentrate (sugarless)<br />
• 1/2 part of triple sec<br />
• 1/4 part of lemon<br />
• 1/4 part of simple syrup<br />
• Ice</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">&gt;&gt; Garnish with a slice of canned peach and strawberry</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><em><span style="color:#999999;">Na onda das vodkas flavorizadas, criei um coquetel simples e delicioso. Se a vodka é boa, é mais fácil acertar a receita. E isso não foi diferente com </span></em><strong><span style="color:#999999;">Vermilion</span></strong><em><span style="color:#999999;">, um coquetel com base em ingredientes que vão do vermelho ao amarelo.</span></em></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><em><span style="color:#999999;">Normalmente, esse tipo de vodka possui sabor marcante, fazendo com que o coquetel corra o risco de ter o sabor dominado, escondendo a sutileza de outros ingredientes que poderiam dar um toque especial à receita. Para evitar isso, procuro por ingredientes que possuam alguma afinidade. Neste coquetel, por exemplo, combinei pêssego com morango, laranja e limão siciliano. Se dão certo em uma salada de frutas, por que não em um coquetel? </span></em></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><em><span style="color:#999999;">Sugestão: se você não encontrar a vodka flavorizada, utilize a do tipo comum e faça uma infusão à base de pêssegos em calda ou utilize essência de pêssego. Você pode, também, usar o próprio pêssego em calda como um dos ingredientes. O importante é acertar na harmonizacão e fazer um coquetel delicoso, em que os sabores do pêssego, do morango, da laranja e do limāo siciliano sejam distinguidos na degustaçāo.</span></em></p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">This cocktail is an evidence that tropical fruits provide a myriad of combinations among themselves, almost always perfect. <span id="more-949"></span>The starting point was a mango flavored vodka. To me, banana would be the last option as an ingredient, but I couldn&#8217;t neglect the spontaneous Lenir&#8217;s suggestion: banana it is! So we created this cocktail recipe, simple and very tropical. Not even a monkey would find fault. Hope monkeys like mango too.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">In a cocktail shaker:<br />
• 1 part of mango flavored vodka<br />
• 2 parts of banana juice concentrate (sugarless)<br />

O ponto de partida foi uma vodka flavorizada sabor manga. Para mim, banana seria uma das últimas opções de ingrediente, mas não pude negligenciar a sugestão espontânea de Lenir: foi banana na certa. <p style="text-align:justify;">On some of our weekly cocktail nights I bought a vanilla flavored vodka and some fruits to create a cocktail. Due to the strong vanilla <span id="more-906"></span>taste, the creation of a harmoic cocktail became some sort of a challenge. At first, I used pear and some other fruit that I can&#8217;t remember of. It was ok, but not enough yet. Then my friend Lenir showed up with some tangerines and green apple. That was it! Just what we needed. To complement it, I used lime and simple syrup.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">The results of this mixture brought out a hawaiian feeling. Lenir pictured a wave, I pictured a party on the beach, some hibiscus, sea, surf, breezes, sun and so on. Yes, we were a little drunk, actually what we really needed was some vacation. Hawaii would&#8217;ve been great!</p>

• 1 part vanilla flavored vodka<br />
• 1 part tangerine juice*<br />
• 1 part green apple juice**<br />
• 1/2 part lime juice<br />
• 1/2 part simple syrup<br />
• Ice</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">* Fresh tangerine juice, sugarless and waterless.<br />
** Concentrate green apple juice with water (sugarless).</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">&gt;&gt; Garnish with a tangerine slice and dried vanilla.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#999999;"><em>Em uma de nossas noites semanais de coquetéis, comprei uma vodka flavorizada sabor baunilha e algumas frutas para criar um coquetel. Devido ao sabor marcante de baunilha, a criação de um coquetel harmônico se tornou uma espécie de desafio. Primeiro, usei pêra e outras frutas das quais não me lembro. Ficou até bom, mas não o suficiente. Então meu amigo Lenir aparece com umas mexericas cariocas e maçãs verdes. Isso! Exatamente o que precisávamos. Para complementar, usei limão e xarope simples.</em></span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#999999;"><em>O resultado da mistura trouxe uma sensação havaiana. Lenir imaginou uma onda. Eu, uma festa na praia, alguns hibiscus, mar, surfe, brisas, sol e daí por diante. Sim, estávamos um pouco bêbados, na verdade o que realmente precisávamos era de férias. No Havaí seria ótimo!</em></span></p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">When Julia asked me to create a cocktail, it soon reminded me one of her stunning photos as a model.<span id="more-846"></span> This picture, published in <a title="Pátio Savassi" href="http://www.patiosavassi.com/home/" target="_blank">Pátio Savassi&#8217;s</a> magazine, is part of a <a title="20's art-déco fashion" href="http://www.1920s-fashions.co.uk/sittingonterrace.htm" target="_blank">20&#8242;s fashion style</a> editorial, produced by Cláudio Marra and photographed by <a title="Weber Pádua" href="http://www.dablio.com.br/" target="_blank">Weber Pádua</a>. Julia&#8217;s art-déco elegance inspired a retro cocktail with tangy flavor. When I tried the recipe, the cocktail didn&#8217;t show the vintage concept of the photo, although it tasted delicious. That was kind of frustrating, but I&#8217;ve soon realized that, although the drink was not what I&#8217;ve intended it to be, it was just like Julia: sweet with an outstanding beauty.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><em><span style="color:#999999;">Quando Julia pediu para que eu criasse um coquetel, logo me lembrei de uma de suas fotos como modelo. Publicada na revista do shopping <a title="Pátio Savassi" href="http://www.patiosavassi.com/home/" target="_blank">Pátio Savassi</a>, essa foto é parte de um editorial de moda no <a title="20's art-déco fashion" href="http://www.1920s-fashions.co.uk/sittingonterrace.htm" target="_blank">estilo dos anos 20</a>, produzido por Cládio Marra e fotografado por <a title="Weber Pádua" href="http://www.dablio.com.br/" target="_blank">Weber Pádua</a>. A elegância art-déco de Júlia inspirou um coquetel retrô de sabor marcante. Quando experimentei a receita, o coquetel não traduziu o conceito vintage da foto, <em>embora tenha ficado delicioso</em>. Isso foi um tanto frustrante, mas logo percebi que, embora a bebida não tenha ficado como planejei, era exatamente como Julia: doce e de beleza incomparável.<br />

<p style="text-align:justify;">* With a muddler smash the figs in the cocktail shaker, then add the rest of the ingredients. Shake well and double strain it.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">I&#8217;m so fascinated by <a title="Claude Monet" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claude_Monet" target="_blank">Monet</a>, one of my favorite artists. When I visited the <a title="Musée d'Orsay" href="http://www.musee-orsay.fr/" target="_blank">Musée d&#8217;Orsay</a>, in Paris, <span id="more-780"></span>the &#8220;<a title="Le Bassin aux nymphéas, harmony rose" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/wallyg/1393798978/" target="_blank">Le Bassin aux Nymphéas, Harmonie Rose</a>&#8221; (Water-Lily Pond, Symphony in Rose) captivated me. It is one of Monet&#8217;s japanese foot-bridge over the water-lily pond paintings.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">To create the Nymphéas, I&#8217;ve chosen ingredients related to Monet. The base of this cocktail is absinthe. Numerous artists and writers living in France in the late 19th and early 20th century were noted absinthe drinkers. I believe that Monet was one of those artists. I&#8217;ve also chosen lavender tea. In Monet’s garden at Giverny there is some lavender blossom. Finally I&#8217;ve added apple and grape juices due to Monet&#8217;s painting &#8220;<a title="Still Life With Apples and Grapes" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Monet-Still-Life-with-Apples-and-Grapes-1880.jpg" target="_blank">Nature Morte: Raisins et Pommes</a>&#8221; (Still Life with Apples and Grapes).</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">In a cocktail shaker:<br />
• 1 part absinthe<br />
• 3 parts lavender tea (sugarless)<br />

Quando visitei o <a title="Museu d'Orsay" href="http://www.musee-orsay.fr/" target="_blank">Museu d&#8217;Orsay</a>, em Paris, a pintura &#8220;<a title="Le Bassin aux nymphéas, harmony rose" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/wallyg/1393798978/" target="_blank">Le Bassin aux Nymphéas, Harmonie Rose</a>&#8221; (Lagoa dos Lírios d&#8217;água, Sinfonia em Rosa) chamou minha atenção. Ela é uma das pinturas da ponte japonesa sobre a lagoa de lírios d&#8217;água, de Monet.</em></span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#999999;"><em>Para criar o Nymphéas eu escolhi ingredientes relacionados a Monet. A base deste coquetel é o absinto. Vários artistas e escritores que moravam na França no fim do século XIX e início do século XX eram notáveis consumidores de absinto. Acredito que Monet era um daqueles artistas. Eu também escolhi chá de lavanda. No jardim de Monet em Giverny existem muitas flores de lavanda. Finalmente acrescentei os sucos de uva e maçã devido à pintura de Monet &#8220;<a title="Still Life With Apples and Grapes" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Monet-Still-Life-with-Apples-and-Grapes-1880.jpg" target="_blank">Nature Morte: Raisins et Pommes</a>&#8221; (Natureza Morta: Uvas e Maçãs).</em></span></p>

<p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>Nippon Asahi</strong> means &#8220;Japan&#8217;s morning sun&#8221; in japanese. This drink can be the best ending for your cocktail party, recovering part of your energies with freshness and awesome flavor. It is energizer because contains green tea, lite because it is a sake-based cocktail and refreshing due to the mint twist. Delicious? Sure! <strong>Nippon Asahi</strong> is also made from <a title="White table grape" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grape" target="_blank">white table grapes</a>. Drink it, go home and take a good rest.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">In a cocktail shaker:<br />
• 8 white table grapes*<br />
• 1,7 oz green tea (no sugar)<br />
• 1,7 oz sake<br />
• 0,4 oz simple syrup<br />
• 0,4 oz mint liquor<br />
• Lots of ice</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">* Squeeze the grapes with a muddler before adding the rest of the ingredients.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">The inspiration to create this cocktail came form one of my favorite posters: <strong><a title="Poster La Tournée du Chat Noir " href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Steinlein-chatnoir.jpg" target="_blank">La tournée du Chat Noir <span id="more-549"></span>avec Rodolphe Salis</a> </strong>(Tour of the Le Chat Noir with Rodolphe Salis), painted by the <a title="Art Nouveau" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Art_Nouveau" target="_blank">Art Nouveau</a> artist <a title="Théophile Steinlen" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Th%C3%A9ophile_Steinlen" target="_blank">Théophile Steinlen</a>. The poster is Steinlen&#8217;s 1896 advertisement for a tour to other cities (&#8220;coming soon&#8221;) of the <a title="Le Chat Noir cabaret" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le_Chat_Noir" target="_blank"><strong>Le Chat Noir&#8217;</strong>s cabaret</a> artists. The painting has an illustration of a black cat. So, to choose the ingredients for this cocktail, I&#8217;ve focused on a cabaret concept, wich guided me to bohemian spirits, such as rum and cachaça, and to a sensuality related fruit, the cherry. To make it black, like the cat, I&#8217;ve chosen black rum and the black cachaça <a title="Cachaça Cana Crioula" href="http://www.canacrioula.com.br/" target="_blank">Cana Crioula</a>.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">In a cocktail shaker:<br />
• 1 part (around 0,8 oz) of black rum<br />
• 1 part of black cachaça<br />
• 1 part of cherries purée (sugarless)*<br />
• 1/2 part of cherry syrup**<br />
• Ice<br />
* I&#8217;ve used very ripe cherries to make the purée even darker.<br />
** Home-made cherry syrups become darker than the industrialised ones.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;"><span style="color:#999999;"><em>A inspiração para criar este coquetel veio de um dos meus posters favoritos: <strong><a title="Poster La Tournée du Chat Noir " href="http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ficheiro:Steinlein-chatnoir.jpg" target="_blank">La tournée du Chat Noir avec Rodolphe Salis</a> </strong>(Turnê do Le Chat Noir com Rodolphe Salis), pintado pelo artista do movimento <a title="Art Nouveau" href="http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Art_nouveau" target="_blank">Art Nouveau</a> <a title="Théophile Steinlen" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Th%C3%A9ophile_Steinlen" target="_blank">Théophile Steinlen</a>. O poster, de 1896, é uma publicidade de Steinlen para a turnê dos artistas do cabaré <a title="Cabaré Le Chat Noir" href="http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le_Chat_Noir" target="_blank">Le Chat Noir</a> em outras cidades (&#8220;em breve&#8221;). A pintura tem a ilustração de um gato preto. Portanto, para escolher os ingredientes deste coquetel, eu foquei em um conceito de cabaré, que me levou a bebidas boêmias, como o rum e a cachaça, e a uma fruta que remete à sensualidade, a cereja. Para fazê-lo preto, como o gato, eu escolhi black rum e a cachaça preta <a title="Cachaça Cana Crioula" href="http://www.canacrioula.com.br/" target="_blank">Cana Crioula</a>.</em></span></p>

<span style="color:#999999;"><em>• 1 parte (por volta de 25 ml) de black rum</em></span><br />
<span style="color:#999999;"><em>• 1 parte de cachaça preta</em></span><br />
<span style="color:#999999;"><em>• 1 parte de purê de cere</em><em>jas (sem adição de açúcar)</em>*</span><br />
<span style="color:#999999;"> <em>• 1/2 parte de xarope de cereja*</em>*</span><br />
<span style="color:#999999;"><em>• Gelo</em></span><br />
<span style="color:#999999;"><em>* Usei cerejas bem maduras para fazer o purê ainda mais escuro.<br />
** Xaropes de cereja caseiros são mais escuros que os industrializados.</em></span></p>
